	BROOKLINE 14 - North Hills 6

	Scoring Summary:

Ricari El 30 run (conversion failed)
Anthony Herisko 34 run (Mario Grannison run)
Warming up before the game.
NOTES: Brookline's Little Knights made it two-in-a-row with a
big season-ending 14-6 win over the North Hills Tiny Tomahawks.
It was a great day for the Brookline seven-year olds, who
started the 2012 season ice cold, but finished it red hot.
Brookline's defense did a good job
stopping the North Hills offense.
Riding the momentum from last week's triumph at West Mifflin,
the Little Knights came ready to play. A quick touchdown by
North Hills gave the Tomahawks a 6-0 lead. Brookline came
roaring back with a good drive. Ricari El's scoring run tied
things up at 6-6. The game remained deadlocked at halftime.
Mario Grannison scores the Knights final
two points on a good conversion run.
The second half began with a promising Brookline drive that was
stopped shy of the goal. North Hills went on a march of their
own, but the Tomahawks also came up short. The Knights next
drive was the winning ticket. Anthony Herisko's thirty-four
yard touchdown run put Brookline ahead 12-6. A good conversion
run by Mario Grannison gave Brookline an eight point advantage
with only three minutes to go.
The Knights line up as winners
for the second game in a row.
The Knights defense dug in and kept North Hills from gaining a
first down. Time expired and the Knights were again victorious.
After starting the season with six consecutive defeats, the
Little Knights came on strong at the end. Congratulations to
the Brookline coaches and players for a job well done.
Shake it off.    The Knights defense was tough.

A good tackle kept this North Hills
runner from racing down the sideline.    Another Tomahawk runner hits the turf.

Piling on.    Quarterback Mario Grannison
played a good game.

Running back Ricari El came on
strong in the final two games.    That's two-in-a-row for Brookline's Little
Knights. These boys can play the game.

Play-By-Play Man Lenny Orbovich and
his Color Commentator Chris Derrick
provided some excellent game coverage.
They made a good team in the booth.

	WEEK #9 - October 27, 2012 @ McGibbeny Field

	8-UNDER

	North Hills 14 - BROOKLINE 6

	Scoring Summary:

Brandon Pezzelle 60 run (conversion failed)

	Interception: Brandon Pezzelle

NOTES: Coach Auggie and Brookline's eight-year olds finished
the 2012 season with 14-6 loss to the North Hills Tomahawks.
Playing before their home crowd, the Knights fought hard and
kept themselves within striking distance until only three
	minutes remained.
The Knights gave North Hills
a good run for their money.
The two teams traded blows for the first eight minutes. North
Hills punched their way into the endzone with thirty seconds
left in the first quarter. A good conversion run gave them an
8-0 lead. Two plays after the kickoff, Quarterback Brandon
Pezzelle ran fifty-eight yards for a Knights touchdown, but
the score was called back due to a penalty.
The Brookline offense had trouble all
season long putting points on the board.
Quarterback Brandon Pezzelle scored all
forty-eight of the Knights season points.
Brookline stalled and North Hills took control. They drove the
length of the field and scored on a short run. With thirty
seconds to go in the half, the Tomahawk lead was now 14-0. The
Knights had time to run one play before halftime. Pezzelle
made the most of it with a sixty yard run to put Brookline on
the board. The score at halftime was 14-6.
The cheerleaders did a great job as usual.
Neither offense was able to move the ball during the third
quarter. Pezzelle intercepted a Tomahawk pass and returned it
fifteen yards to start the final quarter. He led the offense
on a drive into North Hills territory. Brookline advanced to
the twenty-eight yard line but fell short on fourth down.
The Knights fought hard today
and kept the game close.
North Hills took control at the three minute mark and ran out
the clock. After a promising 2-1 start, the Brookline Eights
ended their regular season with a 2-6 record. It would have
been nice to close out with a win, but the Knights gave the
Tomahawks a good game and should hold their head's high.
Brookline came out of the gate fast.    This was a crunching hit.

The Brookline cheerleaders.    The Knight defense kept the team
in the game until near the end.

The halftime routine was nice.    The Grand Finale.

The view from the hillside.    The final play of the game.
North Hills took a knee.

	WEEK #9 - October 27, 2012 @ McGibbeny Field

	9-UNDER

	BROOKLINE 26 - North Hills 0

	Scoring Summary:

Jamyle Liebro 45 run (conversion failed)
Jamyle Liebro 94 run (conversion failed)
Antwain Carter 2 run (conversion failed)
Mekhi Gay 5 run (Brandon McGough run)

Fumble Recovery: Eathan Parker, Brandon McGough, Jamyle Liebro

NOTES: Coach Bruce and his nine-year old Knights captured the
top seed in the upcoming SSYFL playoffs with a 26-0 shutout of
the North Hills Braves. The Knights finished the regular season
with a 7-1 record (5-1 in league play) to claim first place.
These Knights came ready to prove that they
are the team to beat in this year's playoffs.
The game began slowly. Neither team was able to move the ball
during the first quarter. Jamyle Liebro got the scoring started
early in the second quarter. Liebro's forty-five yard run gave
	Brookline a 6-0 lead.

The Braves countered with a long drive. A North Hills runner
broke loose and rumbled towards the endzone. Andrew Cagey ran
him down and dropped him short of the goal. North Hills was in
great position, with a first and goal at the Knight two yard
line. The Knight's defense stiffened their resolve and held
back four consecutive runs. North Hills turned the ball back
to the Knights on Brookline's one yard line.

Two plays later, Liebro burst forth with a ninety-four yard
cross-country dash that put Brookline up 12-0 at halftime.

Brookline's offense came out firing to start the third quarter.
A twenty-five yard pass from Grant Hamilton to Cagey set up a
long touchdown run by Liebro. Due to a mistaken whistle by the
referee, the ball was brought back into play and placed at the
twelve yard line. Not to be denied, the offense surged forward.
Antwain Carter's two yard plunge increased the score to 18-0.

Mekhi Gay scored Brookline's final touchdown of the day on a
five yard run in the fourth quarter. Brandon McGough added the
conversion to finish off the fireworks. When the final buzzer
sounded, Brookline had added an exclamation point to their
spot at the top of the league standings.
Brookline's Nine-Year Old Knights claimed
first place in the SSYFL regular season.
Brookline's offense played a great game, proving that they can
put points on the scoreboard with consistency. The defense was
outstanding, completely throttling the North Hills attack with
a succession of bone-crunching hits. Congratulations to Coach
Dave and all of the Brookline Knights defenders:

Zachary Kalsek - DT, Eathan Parker - NT, Nathaniel Wilson - DT,
Visawn Pennix - DE, Antwain Carter - DE, Brandon McGough - CB,
Andrew Cagey - CB, Jamyle Liebro - LB, Nicholas Ault - LB,
Mekhi Gay - Safety, Braden Logan - Safety.

	WEEK #9 - October 27, 2012 @ McGibbeny Field

	10-UNDER

	BROOKLINE 30 - North Hills 6

	Scoring Summary:

Mason Ventrone 41 run (Aidan Logan pass from Nick Roell)
Mason Ventrone 28 run (Marques Watson run)
Marques Watson 5 run (Dominic Leonard run)
Marques Watson 8 run (conversion failed)

	Interception: Ambre Hunter

NOTES: Coach Donnie and Brookline's Wild Stallions capped off
their undefeated regular season with another crushing blow,
this time to the Warriors of North Hills. The 30-6 victory
brings the Knights record to 8-0 and earns them the top seed
in the upcoming SSYFL post-season playoffs.
Coach Donnie lets one fly.
All eyes are on the ball.
Like the previous seven victims, the Warriors were left shaken
and shattered under the hooves of Brookline's herd of rampaging
steeds. The Warrior demise is another chapter in the Knights
systematic slaughter of all who loiter in the path of the
team's ultimate goal, a spot on the coveted Super Bowl trophy.

From the coin toss to the final buzzer, Brookline controlled
the game on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Defensively,
the Knights completely shut down the Warrior attack, forcing
a succession of punts. The Brookline offense galloped at will.
Marques Watson had another great day running
the football. He is the classic power runner
that wears down opposing defenses.
The Knights took the opening kickoff. Two plays later they were
celebrating their first touchdown, a run by Mason Ventrone. The
next possession featured power running by Marques Watson and
Dominic Leonard, and a timely twelve yard toss to Leonard from
quarterback Nick Roell. The completion led to another Ventrone
score. Along with two good conversions, Brookline led 16-0.

With 1:39 left in the first quarter, the Knights were dealt a
glancing blow. North Hills returned the Brookline kickoff all
the way down the right sideline for a touchdown. It was only
the second touchdown allowed this season. The conversion pass
was intercepted by Ambre Hunter. The score now read 16-6.

Dante Douglas returned the ensuing kickoff twenty yards to
midfield. Watson promptly advanced the ball to the three yard
line. This time the Knights foray was stopped by a determined
stand. Then, a Warrior runner broke free and fled thirty yards
downfield. Ventrone tracked down the escapee and dropped him
to the dirt. The short-lived uprising ended four plays later.
These girls are ready to cheer their
Knights on to greater heights.
Brookline regained their stride and finished off the first half
with a third touchdown drive. Watson and Demetri Bose blasted
through large holes and moved the Knights to the Warrior five.
From there, Watson bulled his way into the endzone. Leonard's
conversion run put Brookline ahead 24-6 at halftime.

The scoring parade extended into the third quarter as Watson
hammered home his second touchdown of the afternoon to increase
the Knights advantage to 30-6. Midway through the third quarter
the Brookline reserves took over. They played well and finished
the game. North Hills launched a last minute surge that reached
the Knights eight yard line. The horn sounded to end the game.

Today, the Knights met a good opponent and pretty much buried
them. This team is hungry. Each week their appetite seems to
grow stronger. Coach Don has them whipped into a rabid frenzy.
Whoever meets these beasts in Round One had better be prepared.
This defense is dangerous. The first team
hasn't allowed a touchdown all season long.
Over the course of eight games, Brookline has scored 274 points
while allowing only twelve. That's an average score of 34-2.
Mason Ventrone and Marques Watson are tied for the team lead in
scoring with eighty-six points and thirteen touchdowns apiece.
Both have logged multiple 100-yard games, and quarterback Nick
Roell, a crafty young tactician, has been a consistent leader.

Mason and Marques may have the majority of the points, and the
quarterback always gets the press, but this offensive unit is a
dedicated eleven-man crew. Every member is a dangerous weapon.
The same can be said for the Knights punishing defensive squad.
The clatter of their cleats is the sound of impending doom.

It's playoff time. Who dares stand in the way of the Knights?
The Knights won the coin toss.    It took the Knights offense all of forty-five
seconds to score the game's first points.

Quarterback Nick Roell launches
a conversion toss ...    ... into the hands of tight end Aidan Logan.

Marques Watson and Jack Sullivan
drop another North Hills back.    Mason Ventrone take a direct snap. Mason
had another fine day running the football.

There's always something to
cheer about with this team.    The Knights reserves take the field.

All eyes are on Coach Donnie
as he calls the next play.    Brookline's Wild Stallions are the team
to beat in this year's SSYFL playoffs.

	WEEK #9 - October 27, 2012 @ McGibbeny Field

	11-UNDER

	North Hills 18 - BROOKLINE 6

	Scoring Summary:

Anthony Carrington 99 interception return (conversion failed)

Fumble Recovery: Dominic Emma, Anthony Carrington
	Interception: Anthony Carrington
The Brookline defense did what they could
to hold back the potent Redskin offense.
NOTES: With a persistent, misty rain signaling the beginning of
what meteorologists are calling "The Perfect Storm," Coach Eric
Zilch and his Brookline Elevens ended the 2012 season with an
18-6 loss to the undefeated North Hills Redskins. While the
Redskins controlled the game, the fiesty Knights managed to
	keep the contest relatively close.

There was no score after the first ten minutes of play. North
Hills opened the second quarter with a long march, capped off
by a forty yard run. The Redskins breached the endzone again
before halftime to take a 12-0 lead into the intermission.
The Knight offense struggled to move the ball.
Another touchdown run in the third quarter increased the North
Hills advantage to 18-0. The Redskins threatened to break away
after an interception gave them good field position. They drove
to the Knight ten yard line, but a fine stop by Jonathan Morin
on fourth down halted the red tide.

North Hills mounted one more drive deep into Knight territory
in the fourth quarter. The Redskins advanced to the Brookline
five yard line. A pass to the endzone was picked off by Anthony
Carrington and returned ninety-nine yards to put the Knights on
the scoreboard and avoid the shutout.
Brookline's Eleven-Year Old Knights.
As for the perfect storm, we'll all have to wait and see. One
thing's for sure. It is going to be a cold, wet week.
These Knights fought against the odds all
season long and did a pretty good job.    It's getting cold and wet.
Perfect football weather.

First down - North Hills.    Anthony Carrington was the Knights
leading scorer for the season. His
ninety-nine yard interception return
put the Knights on the scoreboard.

Quarterback Nathan Ault had a good season. He
led the Knights offense through thick and thin.    Coach Zilch and his staff did a good
job with a team short on personnel.
A warm hello to the Mitchell family, Joe, Jean, Dylan and Matt.
Brookliners now living in North Hills, they were here to watch
Matt, who is the quarterback of the North Hills Redskins. It's
always nice to see them all, even when wearing red and white.
Matt played a good game on both offense and defense. We hope to
see him wearing Brookline green during basketball season.

	WEEK #9 - October 27, 2012 @ McGibbeny Field

	13-UNDER

	BROOKLINE W - West Mifflin L (forfeit)

NOTES: The West Mifflin team was unable to field enough players
to play the game. A win is a win is a win. The Knights season
record rises to 3-5, good enough for a spot in the post-season
playoffs. Next Sunday it's on to Moon High School for the first
round playoff game against the Moon Tigers.
