Here's a photo of long-time BACC council member and past-president Elva McGibbeny with her husband, former Post-Gazette sportswriter Dan McGibbeny, Brookline residents since 1951. Elva was instrumental in the efforts to develop the land that is now Brookline Memorial Park, while Dan covered local Little League baseball for the Brookline Journal under the moniker "Mas Neyrb". Dan passed away in 1990. Elva now spends her days under the palm trees of Fort Lauderdale. The Senior ballfield at Brookline Memorial Park is named for their son Danny, who passed away in September 1977. Dan passed away in April 1990 and Elva passed in December 2009, at age ninety. Because of their history of giving, the legacy of the McGibbeny Family will lives on here in Brookline.
