The Golden Triangle - 1776

Fort Pitt and the settlement of Pittsborough at the river junction in 1776. The Fort Pitt Blockhouse, or "Bouquet's Redboubt", stands in the clearing outside the walls of the fort. The settlement and population are growing steadily, but it will be another forty years before the City of Pittsburgh is chartered.
