This was the first time we hosted a "Bright Star"
Exhibition Game. The idea was to get the girls who
did not make the regular All-Star teams and give
them a chance to play an entire game without the
pressure of playing with the older, more skilled,
players. It seemed like a good way to see what
our younger, junior players had learned this year.

For the twelve players who came to play, we gave
them a full length, four-quarter game and sat back
to watch. The girls did not let us down, treating
the crowd to a good game of basketball. Both teams
played well and the players proved that there is
definitely a future for girl's basketball here in
Brookline. In a couple years, these kids will be
lighting up the scoreboard and dazzling us with
the raw talents that we witnessed here today.

After a long and hard fought game, the girls and
parents were treated to pizza and pop downstairs
in our own "LE CAFE FUGI", home of the best summer
lunch program in the City of Pittsburgh.

Well, this was the last basketball game of the
season. All told, I watched every second and
kept score of 128 games since the beginning of
June. That's a lot of basketball, and I enjoyed
every minute of it. It was really a pleasure
getting to know all the kids and their parents,
and being given the opportunity to bring a little
joy and excitement to their summer.

Thanks everyone and I hope to see you next year!

The score remained close
 for the first two quarters.
 The halftime score was 14-14.
 After the third period, 21-16.
The fourth quarter was a blur
 as Dr. Dale's Green Goblins
 found the mark and outscored
the Blue Angels of Coach Milan
 by a whopping twelve points.

A little color play can make
a grainy picture look kind of
 cool. That's Jillian Welch
 guarding Stephanie Snyder while
 Janet and Saedi battle for
position near the top of the key.

 Jillian Welch and Christy

 while Saedi Hoelzle and

Shannon, Tess, Stephanie,
Janet and Jasmine of Coach
Milan's Blue Angels are ready
to defend their court against
Saedi, Christy and the rest of
Dr. Dale's Green Goblins.

Thanks to the moms and dads,
 grandmothers, Uncles and Aunts
who have supported us all year
 long. This Bud's for you!
