This is Gallion Avenue, shortly after being paved in Belgian Block, in 1925. The photo was taken from atop Rossmore Avenue. The field to the left of Gallion was the location of the Brookline Elementary School garden from 1916 to the early-1920s. The homes at the top of the photo are along Pioneer Avenue. The intersection of Beaufort Avenue is visible near the automobile. This was a time of rapid housing development in the community of Brookline.
