Local Pop Band - 1967

Brookline Local Pop Band - 1967

In 1967, this group of talented high school students got together in a Brookline basement and formed what became a popular pop rock band and played the local dance venues of the time.

The group featured, left to right, Gerald Anthony Bucciarelli (singer), Danny McGibbeny (drums), Mickey White (keyboards), Joey Moreno (guitar) and Ronnie Adamese (guitar). Although the band never made it big, three of the members went on to stake individual claims to fame documented here.

Jerry Bucciarelli gained daytime soap opera fame as the villain Marco Dane from 1977 through 1993 on "One Life To Live" and "General Hospital". In 1993 he won an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Jerry also acted on Broadway and appeared in several primetime TV dramas over the years before his passing in 2004.

After college, Danny McGibbeny went on to a career in professional tennis management with the Pittsburgh Triangles of World Team Tennis. He was diagnosed with lymphoma and passed in 1977 at the age of twenty-six.

Mickey White spent time in the minor leagues and moved on to a long and successful career in professional baseball as a talent scout. From 1998 through 2002, he was the Director of Scouting for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Among his many notable discoveries, Mickey is responsible for the signing of all-star sluggers Manny Ramirez and Jose Bautista.

We are not sure what became of Joey Moreno and Ronnie "Face" Adamese. If anyone knows what happened to these two guitarists after high school please let us know.

One thing we do know is that, as of 2019, Mickey White, the Traveling Man now in retirement from his baseball career, still spends time sitting behind the keyboard with a new Band of Brothers, playing in clubs across the country.
