Photos from September 9, 1949 showing the buildings that would be razed at the point for the construction of the Gateway Towers and Point State Park. Shown here are mostly warehouses associated with the Pennsylvania Railroad depot, the complex that dominated the area. In the photo below, the only structure seen to survive the wrecking ball is the Press building in the center.
