The 39-Brookline trolley car, loaded with passengers, heads down the wide curve that takes motorists to West Liberty Avenue and out of Brookline. These tracks, and cobblestones, are still there, buried beneath the asphalt pavement. I remember driving up this stretch of the Boulevard trying to keep my car wheels on the smooth tracks so as to avoid the bumpy ride synonymous with Pittsburgh's cobblestone streets.
