Three close games were staged in the final round of the Brookline Senior Baseball League playoffs, as Castle Tavern won twice to claim this year's crown.

Castle Tavern posted a 5-2 triumph over Stebbrook Pharmacy in the opener but lost an 8-7 decision in nine innings in the second contest. Kevin Nolla blasted a 340-foot homer for Stebbrook's.

The tavern team captured the championship via a 4-3 win in the final confrontation. The game lasted only five innings due to rain.

Joe Motznik went 2-for-3 with one homer in the finale while Chris Jones drove in the winning run.
