	8-UNDER JV GAME (exhibition game)

	Brentwood 20 - BROOKLINE 0

NOTES: Brookline's Littlest Knights suffered their third
consecutive shutout defeat of the season, this time to the
Little Dukes of Brentwood. The first half of the game was
close. Brentwood scored in the final minute to take an 8-0
lead into the intermission. The Dukes found the endzone twice
more in the second half to bring their point total to twenty.
The Knights had a good first half
but did not move the ball consistently.
Brookline's defense played a good game, but did not get much
support from the offense. Running backs Mario Grannison and
Racari El both had long runs, but the team could not convert
these nice gains into scoring opportunities.
Brookline runners kept hitting
a wall of Brentwood defenders.
On defense, there was one memorable play by Jonathan Pistorius,
who made a fine tackle late in the game. Pistorius dropped a
breakaway Brentwood runner after a long downfield chase. It was
a bright moment in an otherwise cold and dreary morning.

	WEEK #3 - September 15, 2012 @ McGibbeny Field

	8-UNDER

	BROOKLINE 18 - Brentwood 12 (OT)

	Scoring Summary:

Brandon Pezzelle 70 run (conversion failed)
Brandon Pezzelle 50 run (conversion failed)
Brandon Pezzelle 6 run (conversion failed)

NOTES: Coach Auggie Foster and his eight-year old Knights made
it two straight wins with an overtime victory over the Dukes of
Brentwood. In a real nail-biter of a game, The Knights and the
Dukes battled it out on even terms. The score was 12-12 after
regulation play. A touchdown and a good defensive stop in the
first overtime put the Knights over the top.
The Knights offense moved the ball well.
Brentwood got the scoring started at 1:30 of the first quarter
after a long drive. Brookline's Brandon Pezzelle answered that
challenge twenty seconds later with a seventy yard touchdown
dash to even the score at 6-6. Pezzelle broke loose again on
Brookline's next possession and raced fifty yards to give the
	Knights a 12-6 lead.
Brookline cheerleaders did a great
job in their first home game.
With only seconds remaining in the first half, a Brentwood back
broke loose and got ahead of the pack. After a long chase, the
runner was dropped on the three yard line by T.J. Christe and
Jason Randall. Unfortunately, a Brentwood touchdown run on the
final play negated that fine effort. The game entered halftime
	deadlocked at twelve-all.
Brookline threatened to score late in the game.
This penalty put the ball at the Brentwood two with
seconds to go but the Knights couldn't punch it in.
The second half was played to a scoreless tie. Neither team was
able to mount a sustained drive as the opposing defenses put
down all threats. In the final minutes of regulation, Brookline
went on a march that took them all the way to the Brentwood two
yard line. With time ticking away, the Knights were unable to
punch the ball across the goal line before the buzzer sounded.
Time expired and the game went into overtime.
Players take a knee as coaches attend to
Brookline's Brandon Pezzelle, who went down
for a moment after a big hit. Pezzelle came
back to lead the Knights to a big victory.
Brookline won the toss and took first possession. Once again it
was Brandon Pezzelle providing the big spark with a six-yard
touchdown run on third down. A failed conversion left Brookline
clinging to an 18-12 advantage. The Knight defense then rose to
the occasion and stopped the Dukes cold on four straight plays
to preserve the win for Brookline.

	BROOKLINE 40 - Brentwood 0

	Scoring Summary:

Mason Ventrone 23 run (Aidan Logan pass from Nick Roell)
Marques Watson 30 run (conversion failed)
Demetri Bose 23 pass from Nick Roell (conversion failed)
Demetri Bose 11 run (conversion failed)
Dante Douglas 15 run (conversion failed)

	Fumble Recovery: Ryan Elliott (2)

NOTES: Brookline's ten-year old Knights improved their record
to 3-0 with a convincing 40-0 shutout of the Brentwood Dukes.
The Brookline offense appeared unstoppable, blitzing Brentwood
with a well-balanced game plan while the Knight defense crushed
all attempts by the Dukes to mount a counter-thrust.
Brookline's offense is like a loaded gun
ready to fire at the snap of the ball.
The Knights scored on all four of their first half possessions,
building a 28-0 halftime lead. With the reserves playing the
the majority of the second half, Brookline increased the point
spread to forty before game's end.
The Brookline and Brentwood cheerleaders squared
off for a little meet and greet of their own.
Offensively, the Knights once again dominated with a powerful
running game led by Marques Watson, Mason Ventrone and Dominic
Leonard. Quarterback Nick Roell mixed things up with some nice
passes to receiver Jack Sullivan, tight end Aidan Logan and
running back Demetri Bose. Even in the second half, with
Sullivan leading the second-team offense, Brookline moved the
	ball with conviction.
Jack Sullivan did a good job leading the
reserve offense to two second half scores.
Defensively, Brookline smothered Brentwood in a sea of Green
and Black. Swarming like locusts and hitting like hammers, the
Knights totally overwhelmed the Dukes. Ryan Elliott, as part of
the special teams, did his best to keep the Duke offense off the
field by recovering two loose kickoffs. So far this season, the
Knights have yet to yield a point while amassing 108.
Brookline's Tens take a halftime photo with
New England Patriot player Ross Ventrone, who
played for the Knights back in the late-1990s.
Brookline's players were treated to a visit by special guest
Ross Ventrone, a member of the New England Patriots who was one
of the Knights standout players back in the late-1990s. Ross'
nephew Mason plays running back and linebacker for the Knights.
The Brookline players gathered around their NFL brother for a
cool photo op at halftime. Once a Knight, always a Knight!

(Tyler Becher pass from Nathan Ault)
Dominic Emma 48 run (Jonathan Morin pass from Nathan Ault)

This is the start of a game that
will be remembered for a long time.
NOTES: In the city of Pittsburgh, there's been plenty of talk
about whether the Pirates can put an end to their nineteen year
losing streak. This could be the year, at least we hope.

In the community of Brookline, there was talk about whether the
eleven-year old Knights would put an end to their fourteen game
losing streak. This could be the game, at least we hope.

Today, we know one of the answers. The Knight's streak is over!

Brookline's eleven-year old Knights ended their fourteen game
winless streak with a crunching defeat of the Brentwood Dukes.
After nearly two years of frustration, the Knights exploded
with a thirty-four point outburst that put to rest any doubts
about whether these kids can play the game. From the opening
kickoff to the final buzzer, these Knights played championship
caliber football. It was a complete triumph.
Brookline's offense finally came alive.
Anthony Carrington's fifty-yard touchdown run on the Knights
first possession gave Brookline an early six-point lead. A
fifty-yard scoring pass from quarterback Nathan Ault to Tyler
Becher, and a conversion toss, increased the Brookline lead
to 14-0. The offense was clicking and the defense was holding.

On Brookline's next possession, Dominic Emma, recently added
to the backfield, found a seam and burst forth with a speedy
forty-eight yard dash to the endzone. Ault hooked up with
Jonathan Morin on a conversion pass. Brookline went into the
halftime break brimming with both confidence and a 22-0 lead.
Brookline's defense buried the Dukes.
The good kharma continued into the second half. Another long
touchdown run by Carrington and a fifty-five yard interception
return by Morin boosted Brookline's point total to thirty-four,
which incidentally is two points more than the team scored in
	the entire 2011 season.

A final sixty-yard touchdown run by Ault with a minute left to
play was negated by a penalty. When the final buzzer sounded,
the Brookline players headed for the sideline with a feeling
that had eluded them for so many bitter Saturdays. They were
the winners and, not only had they won, they had conquered.
Quarterback Nathan Ault is
emerging as a good passer.
Fielding only fourteen players, this can only be considered a
total team victory. Everyone plays and everyone contributes.
Much of the credit for this has to go to first-year coaches
Eric Zilch and Joey Nicholas, whose youthful exhuberance has
these kids believing in themselves, and playing competitive
football. Another positive sign is the emergence of quarterback
Nathan Ault as an effective passer.

Who knows what the future has in store for these Knights, but
one thing is for certain ... the streak is over!

Prior to today's victory, the last time this Knights team won a
football game was on September 25, 2010. Brookline won that one
by a score of 14-12, over none other than the Brentwood Dukes.
As for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the season's not over yet, and
they still have a chance to end their streak. At least we hope.

	BROOKLINE 32 - Brentwood 16

	Scoring Summary:

Quran Powe 53 run (conversion failed)
Sharron Steave 51 pass from Brent Ivory (conversion failed)

Quran Powe 58 run (conversion failed)
Sharron Steave 20 pass from Brent Ivory (conversion failed)

	Interception: Khalil Weathers, Quran Powe
Introducing the 2012 Brookline Knights.
NOTES: Brookline's Elder Knights improved their record to 2-1
with a 32-16 victory over the Brentwood Dukes. It was another
convincing win for Coach Joe and his Posse, who combined a
powerful running attack with a flurry of pin-point passing to
	keep the Duke defenders off-balance.
Brent Ivory is having another
good season at quarterback.
Brentwood took the opening kickoff and began a march downfield.
A Khalil Weathers interception ended that threat. From that
point on the first half was all Brookline. Two touchdown runs
and a scoring pass put the Knights on top 20-0 at the break.
The Knights were up 20-0 at halftime.
The Dukes managed to outscore the Knights 16-12 in the second
half, but the game was never in doubt. This was another strong
win for the Knights, whose continued improvement bodes well for
the team's post-season playoff possibilities. The opponents
scheduled for the next couple of weeks will be a fair test of
how good this Knights team can really be.
Girls just want to have fun.
