The Brookline Merchants football team in 1940.

This team photo shows the 1940 Brookline Merchants at their new home field at Moore Park. The team coaches are Tom Grubb (top left) and Sam Bryen (top right). According to Grubb's notes, the Merchants played against teams like the Carrick Eagles, the Broadway Mounts (Beechview), the Rocks Rangers (McKees Rocks), The Library Tigers, Snee Dairy, the Peabody Alumni and the Butler Oilers.
