Melman's Market was a mainstay on Brookline Boulevard for over fifty years, owned by Morris Melman. The store opened in 1927 at 924 Brookline Boulevard. In June of 1954 the market had a grand-reopening after an extensive remodeling effort. The new store contained many of the modern conveniences at the time and offered a variety of meats, fruits and other grocery items. This was a time when small markets like Melman's were the best place to do your shopping, and Brookline had several along the boulevard. Melman's Market closed its doors in the mid-1980s.

The photo below shows Melman's Market in 1936, then carrying the name Triangle Grocers, at the time of the repaving of Brookline Boulevard. Note the torn street and construction materials scattered about.
