In 1929 Brookline's firefighters were shown on their two-year old pumper truck, a 750 gallon per minute 1927 model American La France. It went into service on January 25, 1927 and replaced the horse-drawn combination chemical and hose car. The 1927 American La France pumper truck was in service until 1951.
