The above photo, coupled with the photo below, show the proposed Liberty Bridge before construction began. This is the original artist's conception of the new structure. Construction began in 1925 and was completed in 1928. The span was vital to the development of the South Hills area and it made travel to the downtown area easy for South Hills residents.
